Durlston Castle, Swanage £4M – Dorset County Council

Cost consultancy role for the refurbishment and extension of this listed Victorian folly within a coastal country park to become a gateway visitor centre for the World Heritage Jurassic Coast Project. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, construction started on site in April 2010 and involved a variety of specialist repairs to terracotta, purbeck stonework and an early clinker concrete and steelwork roof structure. The scheme also involved contemporary new extensions for exhibition and retail together with improvements and interpretative external landscape within an environment of outstanding natural beauty and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
